I think she's a vile bitch to say such things. My sister has been unemployed for over 5 years now and she has been trying, very hard, to get a job. She is far from lazy, and is overweight due to medication.

I'd never recommend that to anyone, you get treated like crap and you can get dropped like a hat at any time. It's far too unreliable to be a good option for a lot of people.

I think there's a fair amount of truth in it. Obviously you can't apply this to all fat/unemployed people as there are exceptions to every rule, but for the most part she may just be right.

Maybe if she put her point across without belittling people and making harsh sweeping generalisations about large groups of people, she wouldn't have to deal with the backlash.
