I agree Paul - That's what I meant when I said "Say's it all". In other words it was no great surprise.

It's not a given though as seen, stereotyping doesn't necessarily apply to radicalised teens so no I don't think you can apply the Muslim? nuff said logic.

Such a shame.. we need to stop letting under 18's get on planes without parental consent - I thought that was the law anyway tbh

This is the most succinct yet definitive truth spoken on here so far this year for me. Truly Brilliant.

There is a fair amount of scaremongering going on, when people start making generalisations basted on where people live and their ethnicity then it's not unusual to interpret the issue as that.

I see some Muslim groups are blaming the authorities, the airport, Special Branch... all kinds of agencies for letting them get through the airport. This time last week some Muslim groups were moaning about too much surveillance and intrusion.

The girls have gone with the intention of joining ISIL. They should never be allowed back here.

I don't subscribe to that at all I think they should be allowed back they are children who have been brainwashed is all.
If we hear of the methods used to lure these girls it could prevent it happening to others.

To be fair it's natural to want answers with them being minors.

The answers should come from the parents if they are, as you say, children. Their passports probably wouldn't have been checked until the airline checked them. Blame the airline if the parents are to be, as usual, absolved of any responsibility for their own kids. And brainwashed by whom? Brainwashed isn't the same as radicalised.

None of them should ever be allowed back in the country. They are a massive threat to national security and we should take a tough stance rather than let them back in. If they're let back in other young people will know that we're ridiculously liberal as a nation and there will be no consequences if they leave to join a terrorist organisation.

I don't understand what absolved of any responsibility means in relation to the parents, what could they have done watch teens 24/7.. it's not possible.
What is the difference between brainwashed and radicalised would you say?
They are 15-16yr old girls, and British citizens.
In my opinion it would be reactionary to not allow them back, of course there would be consequenses they would be easier to assess here than there.

Once you get to the stage of leaving the country to join a death cult you are too far gone for a telling off from your mom and dad.

They are probably already enrolled on the ISIS breeding programme if they've crossed the border.

I certainly wouldn't ever let them back here as once they have been brainwashed they're far too risky to the general public.

Assuming their parents are telling the truth and they really do want them back I feel sorry for them.

Hmm.If these girls were 18,19,20 i would 100% be all for never letting them back into Britain. However being 15 and 16 i think i would let them return as they are still children.Their parents must be beside themselves.
I think they were too young and stupid to make the decision they did.
However i think its pretty certain that once they end up in the hands of ISIS there will be no escape.I would think they will regret this decision for the rest of their life.

The old adage if you can't do the time don't do the crime fits this case well.

They may be children on paper but once radicalised there is hardly any chance of a way back. They must agree with all the unbelievable brutality they've seen on tv or they wouldn't have gone.

They are well old enough to understand, they aren't toddlers.
