There's an Urban Legends TV series on US Netflix.

Three stories, 2 are urban legends and 1 is a true story. Looks quite good.

The one I heard was about a babysitter who saw a clown statue in one of the rooms and didn't like it so she phoned the parents and asked if she could cover it up. The parents tell her to get the kids and leave the house immediately. Turns out they don't have a clown statue, it was an escaped mental patient dressed as a clown who snook in and just sat there.

Yeah that sounds incredibly similar, i read about the same thing but it was a teddy
