It's about vampires yeah, but in a different way from The Vampire Diaries / True Blood. Vampirism is treated like a virus I think, and the vampires get a more monstrous appearance over time, share one hive mind, etc. It's more directly horror-based I think.

So there's none of the vampire / human romance seen in the other two shows I assume.

oh i love a bit of human/corpse romance, so it'd probs be somewhat lacking

I love the idea of vampires being portrayed simply as dangerous monsters, we've had enough romanticization of them recently.

I still need to catch up on Penny Dreadful, too.
