..it's also the thing about pushing the wax further into the ear which compacts it and can cause problems but yeah, I think it's something that a lot of people do and love doing even though they know it's not a wise thing....

My doctor once told me you should never put anything smaller than your elbow in your ears due to the danger of bursting your eardrum.


Have you ever tried getting your elbow in your ears to clean them though, it's impossible. Bloody doctors

..use an ear oil or an olive oil to break the wax down..warming it helps to do that as well...

..also pushing the wax down to touch the eardrum is painful I think and can cause damage...

The cotton buds actually push and pack the the earwax further in the ear rather than clean it.

Only sure way or one of the good ways is to clean it properly with a Bulb Syringe.

I am with you on this one Ben.
Nothing better than giving the ears a good cotton budding after your shower, dries them out nicely.
Thankfully I have never suffered with ear wax. If they get itchy(start of any wax) I like a good twirl with a hair grip.

Not really. I don't get much wax, any wax I do get breaks down in the shower and I fish it out with my little finger.

but no i was just answering to be silly, i don't use cotton bud things (i always was told you're not supposed to lol, idk why)

i just scrub at them like crazy when i'm in the bath, with a loofah or something, and use drops + tissue for the wax
