Jade has really annoyed me as of late, but Nick's been a really shoddy friend in this whole situation. Everyone in there is acting like Jade hypnotised him, so he has a convenient excuse to jump ship.

I think it's more that his eyes have been opened. At first he admits he was flattered that someone like her paid attention to him. But he's beggining to realise that Jade is a 'smotherer' and this is isolating him from the others. Before he and Jade got close he had a good friendship with Joel and some of the others, but Jade seems to be a possesive sort, who wants that person all to herself.
Notice in tonight's show that she started being touchy feely with Cristian, who she seems to have ignored up to this point.

I think it is a mixture of him realising she's using him and also him trying to distance himself as a game player to further himself in the series. He will know that if he stays close to Jade too much then he will be dragged down along with her. I doubt he wants to be a target any time soon so he has had to change tactics to stay in there as a housemate

He just won't admit to distancing himself from her because everyone hates her as he knows with this show the public hate 'game players' (even though they all are one way or another). Clever thinking tbh, I honestly doubt anyone apart from a few fans and a handful of casual viewers will catch on to that and view it as Nick realising Jade is using him, even though it's far more than that
