While the choice of clothes wasn't to my taste I looked it from two angles.

Was Joel trying to bring some fun back after what had happened?

Did Eileen & Joel think dressing like that would make him look like a rock star?

Does Steven Tyler wear leopard skin leggings, do any rockers dress like Eileen dressed Joel ? I think they do.
