It was fixed for Rylan to win with the terrible casting and had Spiedi not been there it would have failed as a series

They didn't really though? It was just another example of Channel 5 dragging out what was naturally meant to be a one week long storyline into a full series long storyline. Speidi's continued presence just meant that everyone would use one of their nominations on them and the whole thing was just static.

And even then, everyone likes to pretend that Heidi and Spencer were sly gameplayers who wound up the other HMs with hurtful words, but all they really did was mope around and refuse to participate in tasks or speak to anyone, and then get offended whenever someone called them out on it, but would still not confront them.

They were the reason it was bad.

If they didn't bog the whole series down with the same repetitive crap then other developments would have been allowed to occur.
