If it was getting 1.8 million viewers you would focus on that regardless of the share, as everyone else would. You are just grasping at straws to defend how badly this show is doing this year. A situation that will be repeated again next year the more people on here defend this mess.

No I wouldn't because 1.8 M with a 5% share is crap!

Doesn't a low figure with a high share just mean that people aren't turning their TVs on to watch Big Brother, which isn't really very good?? Like I don't know the first thing about viewing figues so I might be wrong but I would've thought that 1.8m would look more attractive to the channel and advertisers than 1.1m regardless of what the share is.

It's worth more to them than 900k with a 6.8% share.

That's what I thought too.

The %age share doesn't define the series average. It may be getting a 8% share or whatever. But that still makes it the lowest ever rated series of BBUK, not only on Channel 5, but in the history of Big Brother. In other words least watched series ever.

Those shares just show that TV viewership is down, not that Big Brother is doing well. If Big Brother was doing well, it would still have the loyal 1.6m viewers that it had during 2011-2014. They've lost about half a million of that.

a) You can still see people you have on ignore if they're quoted.
b) You can choose to view a post if you want.

And trust me, I'd know.

I agree tbh. Civilian BB has had its day. They should just scrap it for a while.

I think the general public generally cannot be bothered with 'real people' shows created in this 24 hour daily show format. It was a nice novelty 10 or so years ago although viewers just aren't dedicated enough these days.

'Celebrity' shows seem to still have a wide appeal so CBB certainly still has a place on Channel 5. Probably time to see the back of civilian BB though.

It needs to follow Love Island and take a break for ten years.
Love Island is how real TV show take breaks.

Maybe 10 years is too long. I'd say about 5 is enough.

What it needs is to be brought back to life. Half of the people watching can't really be considered "fans"

Alternatively they can recognise that it doesn't work without the live coverage and develop a good website to host it.

How can you be dedicated to it when it is impossible to keep up with? How can you be dedicated when you the viewers are as confused as to what is actually going on as the HMs.

People really should stop pretending that the BB format is tired when the BB format was turned on by Channel 5 from the start.

It won't. Even if the figures go up, they're only there for a week. And it's not like they can go on repeating such stunts.

I doubt this week will bring in much viewers.

4in4out didn't bring much viewers. I think this week will get around 1.5m, and then it will go back to 1.1m again, next week.

The +1 figure was pretty substantial last night, it was at 957k without it - people clearly not aware it started at 9 and then it was probably ever so slightly dented by Love Island too - mind you, that only got 357k
