As for the present day, I don't think we can say with certainty that her prank on Jack is "harmless". It was certainly mean-spirited (rather than a good-natured prank, which would be more warranted of being branded "mischevious"), and I don't really think building someone up for a greater fall than they're already heading for is "harmless".

I fully agree that Helen is a million times worse, but I really don't get the glossing-over of Nikki's bad traits.

Citing an event from BB7's first week to drag Nikki ten years later is a bit of a reach. You might have made a dick move ten years ago but that doesn't define who you are now does it?

I wouldn't brand Nikki's actions in the house as anything more than mischievous. She's bringing down an arsehole that thinks he's already won and has attacked someone he considers his lesser in the house multiple times just because he thinks he can. Jack is deeply unpleasant and he deserves the fall that Nikki is setting up for him. She isn't REALLY even doing anything in fairness. It's his ego that doing all the work.

You're oversimplifying things to suit your own argument. I'm not a hypocrite for judging Helen for her behavior, I'd be hypocritical if I attacked her looks, or branded her Moira Hindley, or calling her a peado or if I said anything that Helen has done recently. Why is bringing up something bad she did in BB7 any different from loving her for her funny moments in BB7? If you're telling me that you've disregarded everything from BB7 and are basing your opinion on her purely on her time in BB16, I find that hard to believe. Her past BB stints are either relevant or they're not, and that goes for all of it.

On top of that, you didn't specify in your post that you're referring simply to BB16. You commented on her being simply mischevious and harmless (a comment that seemed to be a general observation not limited to one timeframe), so I provided what I believe to be evidence of the contrary.

Do I think her being a spiteful piece of work in BB7 defines her as a person for the rest of her life? No, but I'm talking in terms of how I view her as a housemate, my opinion of which is soured by times like the one I mentioned. If people are entitled to recite "WHO IS SHE?!" 9 years later, others are equally entitled to hold an opinion on her less-acclaimed moments.

Jack having an ego doesn't at all change or take away from what Nikki's doing. I don't disagree about Jack, but I don't believe that, because of my negative opinion of him, unecessary spitefulness is warranted.

And Nikki herself isn't a stranger to having an ego and openly considering someone else her lesser ... it just so happens that, like with Jack, the person on the receiving end happens to be (rightfully) unpopular, while Nikki is very popular, so it was applauded.

Helen winning doesn't contradict a thing they said, and if the only way to rebuff it is to bring up that she won without actually addressing the points made against her, it's quite revealing of the lack of actual viable defences of Helen.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the winner the one who gets the most votes, love and adoration and the one that people paid loads of money to see them lifting the crown. *******igh got a few votes and a handful of green shield stamps for her troubles and now all of a sudden she is more relevant than a past winner. If Helen is so loved then why does so many people hate her? Why did she enter the house this year to a chorus of boos?

Sam was the winner of BB14 yet no one talks about him as being a factor in that year, it was all about Dexter, Gina and Hazel that year. Nikki is infinitely more popular than Pete, the list goes on. The HMS that don't win are nearly always more loved than the winner because big characters don't tend to win, the boring nice people do. Helen only won because the Producers manipulated her 'journey' every step of the way. She wouldn't have made it past the first week without that pass.
