How do we know that? Aisleyne of 2014 in BB15 would not be the same as Aisleyne of 2006 in BB7.

Also Aislenye had far tougher competition in Pete and Glyn (who have the benefit of being male), whilst Helen really only had Ashleigh as competition.

Not even mentioning the production manipulation (the pass to the final, moving to a secret room a few days before the series ends etc.)

Aisleyne's popularity really came as a sort of sympathy vote when all the ex housemates were talking about going in and sorting her out and the public turned on them in favour of Ais. Some liked her before of course (mostly as opposition to Grace or Nikki), but I've always thought she was somewhat overrated. I still recall with great amusement the pretentious (and very drunk) Paul Morley calling her a "feminist icon" on BBBM

What would be amusing is if Aisleyne goes in gunning for Helen and people suddenly turn on her in favour of Helen.

She probably is by now. I didn't mind her on BB7, but the idea she was this great housemate is really based on how much the forums got behind her out of a hatred of Grace and Nikki. She provided very few memorable moments and for all her tough talk she's the only housemate I genuinely thought was going to have a breakdown when she thought she was getting evicted. Though that was probably all an act.

Didn't she get kicked out of the pre-series run for BB6 for aggressive behaviour?
