I think what happened was Helen was horrible to Nikki durring and after her panic attack. I presume that Nikki came out of the diary room and got abuse from Helen which further freaked her out. I think Brian was referring to this because as he says in the pond scum argument - things have been building up - and he has been hiding away to avoid Helen/dememtor. Nikki has also said Helen intimidates her.

I wish Nikki hadnt had the panic attack - she did ruin the fun. But Im over it now.
correction - I just re watched it and this is not what happened but I dont think Helen is happy with Nikki
