I wouldn't, considering she never progressed past being a spiteful, self-absored knobhead imo. The fact that public opinion generally turned around on her is irrelevant if she didn't make any personal progress into being a more decent person (and I don't believe she ever did).
Using the same logic, Helen had redemption by being the #1 hate figure all series and coming out as the winner. Redemption should be about a personal progression, not simply an increase in popularity from others.
Of course, it's all subjective. I know plenty of others feel Gina did improve as a person. I just never saw much of that.
