So they roll this out six years after all the campaigns when hardly anyone gives a **** anymore?
I used to support it but I think the idea is a little disconcerting now dependent on how it works. It would be best if it's an opt-in feature and one that if you choose to disable it on your own profile, you can't dislike anyone else's posts either. Perhaps an option to enable it for specific posts you're making, as seems to be what they're alluding to, would also help. |

It's not even a dislike button. It's an empathy button. Seems pointless.

"I doubt it will cause them to start wantonly disliking pictures of their friends' babies, dogs, cats and cooking experiments."
Has he ever even USED Facebook? Or... The Internet? Of course it will be used to troll. The top two uses of the Internet are porn and trolling. |

However he went on to say he did not want it to be a mechanism with which people could "down vote" others' posts.
Instead, it will be for times when clicking "like" on "sad" posts felt insensitive. I don't even use Facebook but I can see straight away you'll have people liking and disliking posts like that

If you want a self esteem boost, don't come on the internet...saying that i don't think it's going to be used as simple as disliking someone's picture. more like disliking a news article of 50 people dying or something.
