Everyone of those involved is reporting it from their own biased viewpoint. Clearly, the view that takes precedence is that of the injured party, but it can never be treated as 100% gospel either.

That is certainly true. But if the police have viewed the footage and then asked her if she wants to press charges then it would seem that what she says is correct.
