What about people who wish to identify as neither? Or more to the point, what about who see no reason to define themselves by their gender? Prefixes aren't that necessary...

That's fair enough, I just meant specifically with regards to the article saying that transgender people would be one of the groups that might want to use it. Struck me as odd. As far as people without gender go, I can understand why they'd want a neutral term (although I still have no idea how it would be pronounced lol!)

I guess it was badly worded, but transgender is an umbrella term that encompasses people whom would use a neutral prefix
