X Factor's Ben Haenow has said he and Fleur East are in competition with each other - but it's only friendly.

Ben won the ITV talent show last year, pipping Fleur to the post who was runner-up.

As winner, Ben bagged a recording contract with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Music, and ood news was just around the corner for Fleur too, as Simon signed her to the same label a month later.

Now nearly a year on, and both stars of the show are releasing their debut albums.

Both Ben and Fleur joined the line-up for Free Radio Live 2015 at the weekend in Birmingham, making it somewhat of a mini X Factor reunion.

Speaking to Free Radio Live's Adam Wilbourn, Ben said: "Totally for us [friendly competition]. Competition wise, we're two completely different artists so with regards to the route we're taking it's definitely different."

Ben said he is actually grateful to be on the same journey as Fleur.

"Playing agin with Fleur, someone who came off the same show as me - it's amazing to have a friend in the charts at the same time," he said. "We're taking over the world together."

Earlier this month Fleur said that she didn't understand why she was being constantly pitted against Ben.

"I don't understand why because we are so different," Fleur told the Daily Star. "There's room for both of us. I'd like to sing with him one day because I never got to do it on the show, only hip-hop tracks around the X Factor house.

I feel sorry for Ben as Simon's clearly favouring Fleurbot, like he did on the show over 15 other contestants.

And I'll feel sorry for Fleurbot when Simon's next pet comes along, Louisa Johnson as Fleurbot will be completely disregarded by Simon Cowell like he'd never hyped her up before.

Fleur isn't getting dropped considering she's selling really well right now but it;s cute that you think that

I can appreciate loyal fandoms, but it's never good to be in denial.

If Simon can turn on Leona for a talentless Boyband, what makes you think that he can't do it to Fleur? I'm not trying to be nasty here it's just realism as we already know that Simon's pal Louis Walsh hates Fleur's type of Music and they both practically have the same taste in Music as each other.

Fleur pretty much sums up what Simon Cowell is about, flash in the pan artists, with no staying power. Once he signs Louisa it is pretty much gg Fleur. Though her first album is about to be released it is quite common to see a bit o mf excitement, hysteria even expectations blown all out of proportion, but if Cowell's track record is anything to go by, it is not looking good for Fleur because boy does he love Louisa.
