My leg was so swollen that i had an open cast. 2 of 32 staples in my ankle had burst during the night and i lost enough blood to the point that i needed blood. Im very sorry to hear of your suffering at the hands of these sub standard nhs staff. How are you doing now? Did you recover? did you expose these people? Compassion is so often missing on some nhs wards....the buck is always passed either to politicians or to budgets etc but there is no legitimate excuse for ignoring and neglecting patients the way they did with you. I have similar stories involving myself and members of my family and friends. the left absolutely silenced this corruption for 13 years and certain nhs staff members simply covered it all up and covered each others backs in the most despicable corrupt callous and frankly evil manner. over 60% of doctors said they felt too intimidated to speak up themselves for fear of reprisals (ie false allegations made against them etc) I recall one time I was in hospital with a swollen leg and suspected blood clot, I was told on arrival the dopler machine was broken so I couldn't be tested for a clot? after 5 long days of being ignored I hopped out of my bed to try and find a nurse and eventually found one and demanded I have a scan..5 minutes later a porter arrives and takes me to the machine..i ask the guy at the dopler machine whats been wrong with it for 5 days? his answer...NOTHING....so Ive been laid in bed with a potential clot for 5 days with warfarin injections in my stomach for no reason? erm yes he replied. just 1 small story of many

The nhs must always have a strong anonymous complaints procedure and strong ombudsman which again was sub standard for years. nurses should not only be employed for their qualifications but their character. the word nurse means to care for people and try to make them better. thorough character studies should be made on these people before they are let loose on wards on innocent patients

Hi truth, yes i did recover once they realized that something was wrong. I had a blood transfusion which sorted my problem out but prior to that i was on a drip for the pain that didn't stop the actual pain. I was told that i would have a permanant limp because my ankle was a double break. I don't limp because i did everything possible to get my health back. My surgeon came to visit me the day after my operation and he didn't speak english. A Brazilian surgeon. On meeting me after the op he grabbed my big toe to check my reaction. I kicked him in the face with my other foot. He didn't like it but i said if you do that again i will somehow raise both my feet and knock you out. He understood that.

When my sister was pregnant with her third child and her waters broke, she headed to the hospital. Anyone who's had a baby knows how it is when your waters brake; there really is no mistaking it but she was told by medical staff that her waters hadn't broken and was sent home. Three days later she had a dry birth but she was told that her and her newborn son were fine and sent home the same day. She asked the paediatrician why her son was making a strange noise with his throat but was told that some babies make such noises and it was nothing to worry about.

Two days later her son died in her arms. They called it a cot death but the post mortem showed acute infection which had caused liver, kidney and lung damage. The coroner said it was very likely the cause of her waters breaking early and that his death could of been avoided if staff had taken proper precautions when my sister first reported her waters breaking.

She was advised not to sue but was told, if she decided to go ahead, it would be a case that could take years and the likelihood is, they would just close ranks and nothing would come of it.

That is absolutely horrific. I am truly shocked and saddened to hear that. How is your sister now?
