People's backgrounds actually have a huge impact on their personalities. By living in Somalia or the United States, or even Thailand, you experience so many different things growing up that you bring qualities from all walks of life into one friendship dynamic. Being Thai for example means you're coming from a more collectivist (instead of individualist) society, and that was definitely exemplified in Kathreya's behavior Also it's pretty beautiful (to me at least) that people from such different backgrounds were able to truly find connections in that house.

I think she was the major reason they failed the task (and therefore faced eviction) whereas everyone else (especially Mario) put so much more effort into it, so I think she deserved to go over him for that reason. After rewatching the first couple of weeks of BB9 last year, I realised why she might have been evicted. She was pretty petulant during the task, even before Mario started being particularly difficult. But in fairness, she was a 19 year old suddenly having to pretend to be engaged to an older guy she only just met so I can forgive her reaction.

And yes, I'd hoped her standing up to Alexandra when most were scared to do so would have saved her. I think Luke should have gone, I liked him at the time but knowing how he turns out I wish he'd left. Mario at least had the unintentional comedy going for him, even if he was a knobhead.

Speaking of Chipgate, another of mine is that I think Rachel's reputation as a fence-sitter is pretty absurd. She was one of only three people to actually speak up that night (despite clearly being uncomfortable).
