IS aren't representative of Islam, they just use it because it suits them and they can use it as a method of control. It's no different to the empires of old using religions to get conquered lands to bend a knee.

I would love that to be true, but unfortunately its not backed up by polls and statistics. In Muslim countries, there is majority support for ISIS, in non muslim countries its as much as 30% support amongst the muslim communities. When you consider our 2 main political parties amassed support in the 30-40% it provides some perspective.
