WTF you on about.
She was shocked to find out the UK laws are different. There is nothing strange about owning a gun in the US. In face, people are urged to have one for protection. A lot of Americans are unaware that they are pretty much alone in that policy. I knew people would say "OMG she owns guns, how disgusting!", it's not at all. It;s just a difference of countries. People say the countries are similar but they have big differences too.
She then goes on to say that she would raise her children here because of the anti gun thing. People are blind to the fact that a lot of people own guns in America and it's no big deal. Here, you can't. Americans grow up with the belief that owning a gun is a must. My friend went to live there and was shocked to find that the landlord said to him something along these lines "I'd recommend a gun or something to protect yourself around this town, not much happens but you will feel at ease".
