Detectives investigating allegations of sexual abuse against the late former prime minister Sir Edward Heath are recruiting additional investigators in a sign that the criticised inquiry remains active.

Wiltshire police, which is supervising all investigations launched across the country into sexual abuse allegations against Heath, last month advertised for a number of staff investigators to assist the inquiry for at least 12 months, possibly up to two years.

Well an investigation into one former politician (which doesn't seem to be going anywhere tbh) is different to this supposed 'VIP ring'

Police have dropped a probe into an alleged VIP paedophile ring murder after finding there was no evidence to support the claims.

Officers launched an investigation after a 'witness' made a series of claims, including that a girl had died during a VIP paedophile party at the Dolphin Square apartments in Westminster.

But police have reportedly halted their inquiries amid a lack of evidence to back up the claims of the the man, named only as Darren.

Scotland Yard is to close its investigation into a VIP paedophile ring after failing to uncover any evidence to back up revelations of an alleged victim known as 'Nick'. The Met launched Operation Midland in November 2014 to look into claims that child abuse took place in London at Elm Guest House in Barnes and Dolphin Square apartments in Pimlico.

Nine individuals – including former Conservative MP Harvey Proctor, the late Lord Brittan and former Army chief Lord Bramall – were investigated over the claims, which later widened to include a possible murder. But detectives are now close to pulling the plug on the operation, which has reportedly run up costs of £2m, after Nick's allegations proved baseless.
