When one works in any type of 'blue collar' job, and a 'night out' is on the cards, there is nothing better than showering, shaving and grooming, then putting on clean underwear, and a crisp freshly laundered shirt, a tie, and putting on a smart suit.

I love 'casual' clothes, but they do not compare to 'dressing up' in a suit.

He might need it to hold his trousers up or he just wanted to add his own style in a situation where they all wore the same suit or what LT said, its good manners
