Default How long does sun burn last for

I've got sun burn on my hand and shoulders (and my body but that don't hurt as much). I'm taking paracetamol, drinking plently of fluids and putting some cream on. I was just wondering how long will i have it for and will it effect me skin

Dead skin starts peeling after three days and new skin cells will develop.

About 3-5 days usually. A week at most.

I remember when I fell asleep on the lilo on holiday and I burnt so bad even my eye lids were red raw.

I could've been blinded.

It very much depends on the level of sun burn. I had one case where it took more than a month to heal from it.

You want after sun and aloe vera to ease the pain. From what I saw, it'll be pealing within three days.

My Mom had it in her teens and she told me that it takes a full 24 hours for it to stop.

I fell asleep on Beer beach once - only for an hr and a half ( its not really a beach) , just where the water arrives !, OMG sunburnt don't come into it , i had 3 weeks off work i was so ill , i couldn't even walk for days and when i eventually got home for some love and care - i was in the bath screaming for my mum as when i stood up i had bags of water on my thighs where the water got under the huge sun burn bubbles - it was a nightmare ! I could not go in the sun for years - prickly heat rash covered me and i had to wear long sleeves and trousers in the middle of summer , that sun is vicious !

i swear i used vinegar to take the sting of the sunburn out when I was in america a few years back. it worked pretty well. you can also use yogurt apparently. have you got any aloe vera? cause that's meant to be the best thing

maybe get bandages too so that your skin isnt like rubbing against whatever fabric, and then just have loads of cream or w.e inbetween your skin and the bandages
