Yes but before you have 8 kids you need to know that if anything happens to one of the parents or one of them fecks off that you could still take care of them.Life is full of uncertainties.2 kids is managable possibly even 3 but 8??That is just irresponsible unless you are finacially secure enough to look after them.

I agree with all that, apart from fully blaming the woman? the responsibility lies 50/50 between the couple, he could have worn a condom, or got the snip, at least she is still there....

There's some seriously offensive terms in this thread.
Doesn't it say they only split up this year...So the kids came before the benefits?

He could have worn a condom,She could have refused to sleep with him until he did,She could have gone to the docs for proper contraception.

He could have got the snip? That's a big step and not one i would make until i was sure i would'nt ever want to have another kid. What if they split up and he got a new partner and they wanted a child together? That's like saying she could have had her womb removed.Contraception is much easier and less permanent.

I thought you wanted people to act responsibly, Make your mind up! So the woman has to consider how many kids she has, but the Dad who has 8 kids already who he appears not to support can skip off and procreate with someone else and you are happy with that ...

I agree with you as to what you say above.

I actually also agreed with the govts cap as to benefits,I also agree with them only paying child benefit for some Children and not for an endless stream of Children to any individual.

It is wrong that a Parent can get away with not supporting their family.

£500 a week is not a massive amount of money to be paid to support 9 lives, her own and the 8 Children,as that will need to cover bills too.
However I would consider it able to be enough.

On the other side, if she gets evicted, then a great deal more in the end is likely going to have to be made available to keep her and the Children in accommodation and sustain their existence.
Thereby making that weekly cut of £80+ being likely magnified considerably as to more benefit/support costs.

Relationships end. That's life.People move on.Having 8 kids that you cant support is just irresponsible.Having the snip is not something a man wants to do until later life when he's sure he will never have another child. They both should have considered this but especially her as it's her that is lumbered with kids she can't afford. He should also support them too but that's not always reality is it.
I made a concsious decision to stop at two because i know that's all we can comfortably afford without struggling.

Going to be honest, I think we would struggle on 24k a year with just two kids never mind 8.

Remember for a start that the benefits cap INCLUDES rent so once you take that, council tax and utilities out of £500 a week, you could easily be down to £250 a week already. Then you have to properly feed, clothe, school them etc (state school is NOT free, they're always after little bits of money here and there) and I personally think it's a stretch for this to be possible.

Yes, ok, "she should have thought about that before she had kids" etc. But it's actually the kids who are going to end up suffering the most here, and they had absolutely no choice at all.

It's great to be a man isn't it, he is shouldering no blame for fathering 8 kids and walking away, not saying she has acted in the best interests of her kids, but both are equally to blame for heaping poverty on their family, no one else

If the doting daddy was working and earning enough to support 8 kids and 2 adults, then why is the mother now claiming benefits then just because they have parted?

Has Super Dad stopped working?

Or is he still working but no longer supporting the 8 kids he has brought into this world?

If they "only split up this year" but she is complaining about a drop in benefits due to the 'cap', then she was quite clearly on benefits BEFORE Super Dad abandonded them all - and quite obviously on benefits when she became further pregnant with the youngest kids.

I know lots of young people who are working hard and struggling to live and SAVE a little for their future, who DON'T bring home £500 per week after stoppages, and THEY have not been so irresponsible and selfish to keep popping kids out they cannot afford - yet THEIR taxes are allowing these 'Super Parents' to indulge themselves and DO EXACTLY THAT.

OH - AND A LOT OF THESE HARDWORKING YOUNG PEOPLE CAN'T AFFORD A FECKING CAR so they have ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE OF "STRAYING INTO BUS LANES".

This country is seriously fecked up.

Sell the car for starters, get a good pushchair and decent trainers for the kids..then get walking.
The benefit cap has been on the cards a good while, last baby should never have happened.
The taxpayer pays far too much out for people that are so irresponsible to think they can just pop money machines out, working or not.

Just another story about a vulnerable family for the mindless masses to look down upon and pretend that they are any better. I find the thought of someone taking advantage of the system far more palatable then the people who typically post on stories like this.

This, anyone would struggle to raise 8 kids on a budget like that.

I have to laugh at some of the ridiculous suggestions though, sell her car? Have you ever been to Birmingham? It takes ages to get anywhere on foot or by public transport, taking the car away won't help the family.
