BBCAN2-Rewatch
1.Neda 2.Adel 3.Kenny 4.Arlie 5.Allison 6.Sabrina 7.Jon 8.Heather 9.Kyle 10.Rachelle 11.Ika 12.Anick 13.Sarah 14.Paul 15.Andrew Still an amazing season on a re-watch, Arlie was 14th on my 1st watch but I grew to love the guy so so hilarious.. Also The gremlins have gone up too.. Sabrina won me other this time. Ika went down big time due to me liking other people better and she was nasty towards Heather the most. Adel and Kyle praying together Kenny telling Sarah he's gay Sloppy Seconds Adel and Sabrina's weird relationship Neda were my favourite moments of the season.

Kenny's eviction is the only time i've ever cried watching any form of media. That's how great of a houseguest he was to me.

Yeah Talla's eviction was so so sad. But to me Kenny's just broke my heart because I had never related so much to a houseguest on Big Brother and was waiting since I was 10 years old for a houseguest like him!

Ah time for the best season ever for you then! My BBCAN3 re-watch which I did recently made me think Ashleigh and Pilar really weren't that bad just not the best players and it soldified Brittnee as my least favorite. So mean and ZERO game. Did you remember she quit in the last POV? A true Big Brother player never quits. And she quit because "she didn't study" and this was at the final 4 stage, says it all

and her hosting a POV was hilarious because it sounded like she went to the dentist and got her mouth numbed. Ashleigh went from useless basic to actually doing something, winning POV when she needed it so she went up in my estimation. Kevin made me like Pilar a bit more tbh. they are cute together.

Firstly most people assume I'm straight. Why? I don't know and it's kinda annoying. Maybe it's because I don't pay attention to pop culture, I love rap music, I don't really care about my appearance/personal style, I'm very low-key, I hate shopping etc. However if I fancy whacking on an episode of Absolutely Fabulous, pouring myself a glass of rosé wine or girating around to Destinys Child and someone says "omg you're sooo gay" I'm not gonna be offended because well... I am gay? And if I see an effeminate gay man on a show such as Big Brother I'm not going to be concerned about how he represents the community because of his flamboyance, he is who he is and I will care more about his personality. I mean masculinity is essentially just a concept that's drilled in by society's norms and as gay men I feel that we really understand this better than anyone. I wouldn't say Aneal or Mitch are particularly flamboyant but they are themselves without any concerns of masculinity. Plus I don't think Kenny was a good role model for gay people. In fact he was arguably one of the worst: hiding your sexuality from the house is just an awful, awful example. If 13 year old LemonJam was watching Kenny saying "I'm not going to come out in case it's used against me" I would be even more scared to come out. Plus the fact he played with womens emotions that he would never be interested in, called women bitches and that he'd push one of them down the stairs, I don't really see him as good representation. Now take Gary who was himself and extremely proud and imagine the impact Gary probably had on young gay kids watching the show, (especially if he would have won as Topaz intended. ) There is a need for the Garys and the Rauls and the Scotts on these kinds of programs so kids like them can feel like they're not alone and that they're represented, because there are a lot of flamboyant gay people out there and we love them all. There is nothing wrong with being flamboyant, hell, I wish I was a bit more flamboyant. There is so much harm in the whole "masc" and "straight acting" concept when people shouldn't care about being "manly" whether you're homosexual or heterosexual. What's more important is that you are yourself.

Yeah, I personally don't agree about Kenny being a good blueprint for future gay contestants on Big Brother. Sure, he wasn't a stereotype but that doesn't automatically make him a positive representation of gay guys. For the most part I found him to be really unpleasant and difficult to like.
And then there was him hiding his sexuality for most of the game because he thought that would benefit him, which I as a gay guy just find really insulting to be honest (and a lot more problematic than a more stereotypical guy being cast). To each their own of course, but I definitely wouldn't look to Kenny for an archetype that BB should use for casting gay guys in the future. |

LJ's post was beautiful. Even with the whole masc gay debate aside, Kenny was really whiny and smug and just a dick to everyone around him? And lol he only had his ~inspirational~ coming out when he panicked bc Canada hated him and his alliance
idk, I just don't think that having a wacky beard qualifies as a personality trait like Kenny clearly does.
