I think watching it live has added to your positive feelings towards it with the extra live feed/new presenter ect.

I don't think BB14 is mediocre. It's better than the latter years on C4. I just think BB13 was the superior series out of the two.

BB14 was still amazing. And I'd kill for C5 to have another series like it again these days.

It did this for me. I still think it managed to get a decent cast and was a decent series though.

yeah, I remember being excited at the time watching the live feed at 7 and the fact the housemates seemed more "channel 4-esq", but it hasn't aged as well as 13 for me

Yes the midnight live feed was even better, especially the night of Charlie vs Hazel and Gina. They missed out SO much on the highlight shows.

BB14 felt more like an event and had the hype and good atmosphere to it as opposed to BB13. But BB13 had the better content.

I liked BB14 but I remember thinking it was mediocre at the time. Maybe BB15 and BB16 being so bad made me appreciate it more

pretty much. 13's production in regards to twists and tasks was better though, and obviously the housemate selection was top tier

I think my biggest criticism of BB14 is that people said "It was like C4 again" when it strayed even further from that with the theme, endless twists, endless outside interference etc. BB13 and even BB12 were far more like the original concept than 14 was.

It was still good content wise though.
