The main house seems to have some weird inside door too

Annoyingly though it doesn't seem big enough to allow a housemate to wait in it, which would actually be a good idea. If they created some sort of holding area with two doors I'd be happy for them to keep the stairs open

That's what I was thinking too. And it doesn't look too small? I think they could fit in there.
