Hey, people have differing views and POV's with the subject of the supernatural, but that is what makes it so interesting.

People can detest religion all people want (I'm not religious either), but there are people going so far as to murder and die for their beliefs. It might be good to sit down, listen and try to really understand the people behind those beliefs. It doesn't mean a person has to drink the Koolaid.

I am a Astronomy buff myself. I like Geology as well and studying things like the formation of the Earth. I can pretty much read on non-fiction subjects all day long, especially languages and the design of things. I am self-taught and have taught myself a language and several computer languages in my spare time. My point is there doesn't necessarily have to be a competition between the two, but maybe view it as a continuous learning experience. Science is fairly well proven in it's area but there's no reason to be completely closed to other contexts of what we see and physically experience.

Relax, we are here for the long haul. Education is a life-long thing so there is no reason to close off to other people's POV. It may not change your belief system and really who cares if it does. The point is you may learn something about your fellow man and that is why it doesn't really bother me.

In the context of BB, I didn't hear Sam's ghost story but I wouldn't put it past most people to be putting on for the cameras...

It's a shame if Andy writes off people so easily. I actually want to like him. I would like to hear more on what he thinks about things because he's supposedly studied, but he seems to like to open his mouth too much in the DR . I don't know that he is really the listening type.
It's funny that in your opening sentence you describe yourself as "open minded". That's exactly what someone accused Andy of NOT being on the show, just because he questioned some obviously bs story with no evidence to back it up.

Being "open minded" isn't about being willing to give credence to any old bag of nonsense that a lump of wood says is true. Why don't people realise that being "open minded" is about considering evidence and seeing what conclusions can be reached...if any?

Also, saying as you did that "science is fairly well proven in its area" shows that you do not have th faintest inkling of what science is. Science is having a hypothesis of what might be true, and then trying to prove the hypothesis by gaining evidence from observation and experiment.

So, carry on your "life long education", and continue to be an "Astronomy and Geology buff", but don't make up your own idea of what science is.

And by the way, Andy did nothing to suggest he wrote anyone off like you claim.

I believe he was rude and just you telling me I'm wrong doesn't change my mind. He could have been more tactful in the situation and remembered he's not a journalist anymore he could just allow others to believe what they want and stop being son judgementalk - no wonder none of them like him.

Could you please point out the personal attacks?

This should be good.

You might believe he was rude, but that doesn't mean that he was by any stretch of the imagination.

Being "more tactful" seems to equate to shutting up and ignoring logical thinking in your mind.

Why should he have to remember he's not a journalist anymore? So that low IQ nonentities can spout superstitious nonsense?

Hmmm. I'm thinking about why British TV is a hotbed of lumps of wood who can't string a coherent sentence together. Oh, I've got an idea! It might be because fellow lumps of wood think Andy shouldn't engage in a reasoned debate. Maybe that's it?

I think his apology was an acknowledgement that he might have been more tactful, which shows that he can reflect on his behaviour and the impact it has on those around him.

It seems that only those with extreme, outlandish and, dare I say it, ill-formed, opinions are entitled to express them and anyone who proffers a rational counter-argument is rude.

Andy must feel like the little boy who pointed out that the Emperor had forgtten to get dressed that morning.

Well, I hope the next time he voices an opinion he sticks by it.

Who says he has to be tactful when he is listening to donkeys talking s hite?

Now that he knows he has been nominated, he should tell them to stick their precious wee feelings up their chuff, and say what he wants...because he is the only one who hasn't got the brain of a midge.

Sorry mate. I just assumed that with your username being Clootie Dumpling, you knew what a clootie dumpling was.

Oh, right! I thought you were being smutty, but you weren't. Course I know what a Clootie Dumpling is - unfortunately, they don't make them with the sixpences in anymore - not PC to produce something with an in-built choking hazard - shame!

I thought of LT during the exchange I liked that Andy said his piece he was just a little bit too superior in his view though and didn't put his point across well which was a shame, I think Se are seeing little snippets of bitchy Andy..opening the oven door as well

No as I said and you've ignored, I think he could have approached the conversation with more tact.

Being honest doesn't mean you have to be arrogant and try and belittle somebody else's opinion and beliefs.

Im going right off Andy, he is getting very opinionated and thinks he is above everyone in there. He stays well away from the strong characters and bitches about the weaker ones. He is a prime candidate for ''poor me'' card if he is put under pressure. He seems to have found his feet since alex, Chelsea and the other main house rejects have left. When these come back in, he will slide back into obscurity as he is a bit of a wimp.

Ditto for me.

Andy looked for other reasons those things could have happened from his perspective of being sceptical on such things, he wasn't really being rude he was just challenging Sam as to the possibility of other explanations.

Andy did also talk to Sam afterwards and explain why he said what he did and how he did.
For me that's commendable.
