I just think he felt more at home with the people in the main house (Georgina in particular) and isn't loyalty a good thing if that is how you feel?

He's known them for less than a week it just seems a bit tragic and just unrealistic.

Not at all. Haven't you ever attended a party or social occasion and thought 'Yeah, there are people here I can relate to and get on with' - then on another occasion thought 'There is no -one here I can relax with and relate to'? I know I have.
And that is just a one - night party. He would have sussed that out in a few days.... It's not unusual at all...
