he unsettles most the others because they're left feeling uneducated and ill-mannered by comparison, which they deal with by saying he feels superior to them etc..., etc..., etc....
every single one of them has spoken about other housemates ''behind their backs'', but it's okay for them to do it as it's just discussing their feelings about a situation. when andy does the same thing, exposing their hypocrisy, then he's a snake/**** stirrer/vile/whichever epithet they choose to sling his way - usually very loudly
