Why would Germany want to pull out? They benefit in this more than anyone?
I'm starting to wonder if I'm the only one with a brain? If the country has a better Economy being in a Union or some form of an organization then it's for the best to stay in it as it's the smart and patriotic thing to do.

Exactly, and we're giving extreme ideologies such as Islam more power but these people will learn soon enough.

Leave is always gonna win these Referendums not because that they're the majority, but more because of the fact that it's like when BB does VTE and VTS, VTE attracts more votes because it's the more negative option, not as many people are as impassioned to vote to save a Housemate as they are evicting a Housemate. And that's what's happened here, people on the leave camp were more impassioned than the majority that wanted the status quo.

Is that it is assumed those who do not vote give consent to the status quo. Overall this was a 70+ turnout but only resulted in a 4% win, Nigel Farage was reported to have said, if there was a narrow win like this for remain, that was unfinished business and the matter not settled and he would call for a 2nd referendum, widely reported in the Mirror and the Daily express. How odd it is now with a narrow win for leave. I always said I believed more in the UK would have been on the remain side, some strongly others more softly as to their view, however I always said we could sleepwalk out of the EU by the fact that those wanting to leave, being more determined to vote. So I agree with your post entirely. However the govt failed to put any locks on the vote,at the very least they should have had that 3 of the UK nations had to support leaving or that there had to be a 67% vote either way to be binding on the govt. Also however, this petition that now has gathered around 3.5 million signatures, after the removal of names that are not valid on it. This was devised last year by a leave supporter, who stated first there should have to be a 75% turnout and at least a 60% vote for remain or leave to make the referendum result valid. I bet with all his being, David Cameron wishes he had looked at that and made it so now. We probably do still have a UK where more would have stayed than left. Which will do nothing at all to help heal the divisions of this referendum. Even worse after the rise in racist and xenophobic incidents, which this campaign has helped fuel further, as to such people that think that way unfortunately. Still, I suppose you all have to have SOMETHING to grouse about when it comes to Farage.

Also, the fact that others have lied more isn't really relevant, is it? That's like saying someone shouldn't be charged with assault because the guy who lives down the street is a murderer. |

The pattern here is that it only seems to be the extreme right of these countries that are calling for a Referendum.

Farage has built a career on lies. The only reason why he's still in power in UKIP is because he lied. None of the statements and promises that he made his EU campaign on proved truthful. I don't understand why anyone can still support him when he's lied over and over again. Last edited by Tom4784; 03-07-2016 at 01:21 PM. |

If the German people demand a referendum, one of the parties will offer it at their next general election. Ignoring the people, not discussing their concerns will not make any politician electable. Including Merkel.
