I am still convinced that Jason is playing the game of being Mr Nice Guy, to get as much admiration and sympathy as he can, in order to avoid nominations from his housemates and to gain votes from the viewing public.
The 'nice guy' would be an animal lover who misses his dog terribly, but cares so much about his fellow housemates that he resists the urge to see that dog for their benefit. I think tonight played into his hands nicely, but he had to shut Charlie up or else the benefits would be lost.
I think she is trying to show (repeatedly) that he is not quite the character he is trying to create the impression of being, and his stress comes from fear of his game plan being shown for what it is and thereby ruined.

If he really is a fake she needs to expose why does she claim to love him and want him back then? Either he's nice man she loves or the anti Christ ex, Charlie needs to make up her mind and be consistent or she completely discredits herself.
