Well there is national services for every male in turkey and it sucks.

It is disgusting and it leaves scars in peoples souls. Not everyone can do such things

erdogan didnt put that rule, it existed probably since turkey was founded.

it is 2016 we do NOT need that mandatory system anywhere in the world.

The Army doesn't want this. You have to have a good education and qualifications to get into today's Forces, 16 year olds who don't want to be there would be a bloody liability. However, I do agree with some kind of service... working with other young people, caring for the elderly or the disabled, working for the environment. It'd give lots of young people something to put in their CV at least as well as showing them how the rest of society works.
