I believe what he meant by that (when he was talking to a handful of people after an incident with charlie) is he had kept most of what happened between him and Charlie quiet and so he doesn't want to get angry or it will all come out what she has done..so trying to avoid drama... awkwardness in house etc...so even after being hounded followed driven to tears by that fruit loop Charlie he STILL kept his cool...
