I realize Lateysha and Ryan were really good friends with a chunk of the house, but why does it feel like the bar is set so high for Jason to be included in the group? I mean he's never said anything overly harsh to anyone and he has been open about his decisions in the house.
I don't think Jason's reasons for evicting Lateysha were particularly "amicable" (i.e. not socially acceptable), but I feel like their reasoning for slandering his character so viciously aren't exactly that good either. Like tonight people voted against HM's they've been "friends" with a majority of the series and they likely won't receive the same amount of slander/vitriol. Granted, Jason was the only vote in his case that decided Lateysha's eviction (and I majorly disagree with the decision myself) but it was fair play and each of them all had the same amount of chance to hit the button and claim the prize/evict. I would argue instead it was a **** strategic move rather than having the most malicious intent. We found out from Emma too today that the money would've been gone from the prize fund anyway which makes Jason's reasoning even more sound imo. There's a good chance he would've been gone if someone else had hit the button and Lateysha was certainly a threat to others in the house. Personally, I'd like to have more time for Jason get on with HM's in the house now that Charlie is gone but for now it just feels like a little faux drama going. Similar to drama that Charlie would kick up from the smallest comments made by him... the housemates don't feel comfortable with him and have an awful feeling from his character, but that's not a reason to exclude him. Some people are given a lot more room (*cough* Hughie */cough*) to be assholes but for Jason all it takes is one comment... I just don't see him deserving a crucifixion is all. I think Jayne felt very similar to Jason the first weeks in the house.

It's ridiculous. They're suspicious of him because he's too nice? Hasn't occurred to them he just could be a nice guy. And nothing wrong with playing a game. Big Brother is a game show.

....hmmmm, I don't know Maru..(good OP post btw..)...but I'm not sure with this how much I agree with you that Jason is 'excluded', rather than him having to a large part excluded himself...even when Charlie was there he made comments about observing her taking part/being such a part and her fun/social interactions with others as he seemed to show a preference to 'looking on'...I totally get that there was awkwardness maybe with her presence in the house but that's not the case anymore and yet he still seems to separate himself along with Andy and they both set themselves aside from 'the group'...and have seemed quite disapproving of 'the groups' sense of fun etc and their humour...so aren't 'the group' just sensing that disapproval or rather, completely aware of it so will naturally criticise him more readily....
..interesting though, I need to go away and over-think this all day now...you and your threads and observations, Maru.. ![]() Last edited by Ammi; 16-07-2016 at 08:12 AM. |

Yes. Apparently Lateysha qualifies as a deserving single mother, whereas Jason doesn't as a single father. They're allowed to annihilate him, but Tish is holy and untouchable.
They would have slammed him for any housemate he annihilates from Tish's posse.

Jayne is accepted so it's not an older housemate thing, maybe it's due to him saying he never watched BB, that BB was Charlie's thing, so maybe they wonder why he has gone on it as by all accounts he doesn't need the money, maybe they feel it's unfair Charlie is out when she wanted the experience and he is not a fan, maybe they feel they underestimated him, and when he showed his hand by evicting Lateyesha they felt double bluffed especially those close to him like Jackson as nobody saw it coming, so they naturally feel suspicious especially as he was rather blunt about eliminating the competition and she was popular in the house |

It's quite baffling to hear someone being criticised for cooking and cleaning up. Normally he'd be called the dad of the house. But this lot seem to think it's suspicious behaviour.

My hubs likes to cook. He's planning dinner tonight because it's my birthday!

This is just Jackson being slimy again, asking why Jason does the cooking/cleaning, gets up early etc., Probably because he's used to doing these things for himself at home and as a businessman will have to get up early. Unlike Jackson, whose mummy probably lets him sleep in his pit all day and does everything for him.

Tisha is the model of what society tells people they should be these days poorly educated arrogant loud slutty and entitled to anything and everything. Where as some one like Jason who is calm responsible humble fair and private about his issues is someone who gets called a bad person welcome to the 21st century where it's never you're fault it's always someone else's.

As you say, Jason lives alone, so unless he exists on takeaways or has a chef and maid, he WILL cook and WILL clean, and I suspect, rather enjoy both, because both are therapeutic and very satisfying - I know, because I do both in our household. I hail from a large family and was raised in an era when cooking, cleaning, washing and ironing were not the exclusive preserves of women. My wife works and I am semi-retired, so I do most of the cooking and cleaning in our household. But then again, I ALWAYS have done, and I enjoy it, and dare say, that I am BETTER at both than my wife anyway (not that she can't cook and does not clean ![]() My point is; If I went into the 'BB House' and, being a man who is a good cook and efficient cleaner, and who ENJOYS doing both, would I be hailed as a 'Game Player' by moronic wastes of oxygen such as Ryan the Rat Boy? The difference between myself and the lovely Jason is; I would not give a toss WHAT insignificant airhead fakes like loser Ryan thought, and I would tell him so in NO uncertain fashion. But then, poor maligned Jason is too much of a gentleman to do that.
