Gay men will hate Jason as he's the exact opposite of what most gay guys are like. He's not camp, he's not a Queen in the female sense ala Jayne or Lateysha nor the gay male sense ala Ryan. He's got a thug undercurrent and a barely under the surface aggressive edge and a menace to him. He can handle himself in a fight, and is unquenchably heterosexual and suppressing a macho side that he probably knows won't go down well with gay and young female voters. Hence, in TIBB where clapped out 50 yo female HM are worshipped as Queens, camp gay men as Divas, a relatively macho guy will always be hated here.
