Default With BB17 being only 50 days

does it mean future civilian seasons will be the same length or shorter ( )

Guarantee they make it six weeks next year (if there is a next year)

They'll probably look to Love Island for inspiration and ignore the better aspects of that like well rounded editing, a more normal cast, a better format etc and just think 'shorter is better!'

I do love a 10 week season of CBB.

Ratings go down because the producers make terrible choices, not because the show is 70 days. S15 and 16 have damaged the show too much and the producers can't recognise that less would be more... They need to get in people who realise throwing in twists / mass evictions / cutting the show by 3 weeks isn't going to help anything.

Probably yeah. This series needed to be at least 9/10 weeks long

No more than nine weeks... I don't think they have the budget or the imagination for anything longer; just look at the tasks for evidence.

Because civilian BB is even more awesome and is the original format and is being destroyed and cut short so that C5 can continue their obsession with CBB

The Olympics doesn't start for another two weeks so we could've had a 9 week series again, and if that were the reason they'd launch CBB mid August again

I honestly think part of the reason has to do with Rylan taking the Xtra job, now it's live he'll be working on that from the end of August

It used to be, but they're ruining it. Now i prefer CBB, because they seem to put more effort in it.

Of course, because they're obsessed with it! The fans shouldn't sit back and allow them to do it though and fall for it because it's what they want, we should be outraged at the way they're treating the show

This year i've actually really enjoyed it, but they still managed to ruin it plenty of times.

Oh I know, but tacitly sitting by and lapping up their nonsense and now agreeing that CBB is better than civilian (because they bloody make it so!) only makes the problem worse. That is what they want, and it saddens me when I see long term fans of this show falling for it

I think they did that more for the sake of the show rather than the fans tbh.

If they did listen to fans we'd have things like LF and summer CBB would be scrapped cause well who likes it?

Completely agree!

It's all part of the general Western World's (Britain and The US) obsession with 'celebrity'.
The whole idea of The Apprentice was that the winner got a job (of sorts) but they haven't had a normal Apprentice series in the US for years now so the whole original point died and it just became about resurrecting flagging celebrity careers................until Trump's bigotry and ignorance offended too many people and they cancelled that as well.

I won't even start on the farce that 'Strictly..' has become since it became a celebrity only zone!
