Once again, I only like one of the final three! Glad Tina wins though
She hasn't actually been a very strong player strategically or in competitions but she is for sure the nicest.

Well for starters her main strategy / character trait is to use her sketchy morals to unite people against a common enemy all whole moralizing about how The Good People deserve to win. it's without a doubt the most effective strategy to take when you're on the sequel season to Borneo but eh it's a tad off-putting for me.

I don't rate Africa that much post-merge, pre-merge is brilliant and The Lindsey Richter Experience is something everyone deserves. I can imagine you loving the fabulous and delightful T-Bird too

I still need to see who makes it to the final 3 and wins but I don't have time to finish it right now so I'll see later. ---(faves)--- 1. Jud (Fabioooo )2. Brenda (she seemed different this time than she was in Caramoan but I like both Brendas) 3. Benry 4. Kelly Purple ---(lmaooo)--- 5. NaOnka ---(liked)--- 6. Kelly B 7. Jimmy J 8. Jimmy T 9. Jane ---(ok)--- 10. Marty 11. Wendy 12. Sash 13. Alina ---(meh)--- 14. Chase 15. Holly (I liked her in the beginning but became meh) 16. Dan (I found him funny at like a few random times but overall extremely meh) 17. Jill 18. Yve 19. Tyrone ---(disliked)--- 20. Shannon (I kinda liked the little alliance he had but he started out douchey and not entertaining at all)

I think what Macie is referring to was never clear within the episodes but definitely occurred. I think the help of being linked to a few alliance members like Colby (for example) made her seems a lot less of a schemer than what she was. Many game-moves like getting rid of Jerri, Keeping Rodger and Elizabeth, etc. were made out to be done solely on good intentions...I supposeit did help strategy wise ebcause she won.
I hope you enjoy Africa btw, it's quite an underrated season. |

She "casually" asked Kimmi who Debb voted for and kept that information her back pocket until it was needed, voting out Maralyn without any reservations like you mentioned bc she had her majority alliance with Jerri/Amber/Mitchell/Colby, she realized she was on the bottom of that alliance (partly bc of what Jerri said at TC) and as a result latched onto Keith and brainwashed Colby into voting out Mitchell on the walk to Tribal Council and as a result became the power player in a strong three-person alliance, stood in the merge IC just long enough to ensure that Keith gets Immunity and then use her knowledge of Jeff's past votes against him, took out Jerri in efforts to isolate Amber and simultaneously make Rodger and Lis feel indebted to her, decidedly took Rodger out before Elisabeth at F5 because he admitted that she needed the money more and thus in Tina's faux morals "she deserved it more than him," and wound up in a F3 scenario where she automatically won because there was no way Colby or Keith would take each other to the end.
Tina didn't present herself as a schemer but it was all a facade -- remember, this is directly after Richard Hatch wins Borneo and is hated by America for ruining the integrity of Survivor. Australian Outback had a whole level of metagame because after seeing Hatch break the system, you knew that that's what you had to do to win, but you also knew that you couldn't present it as such since Hatch was a despised pop culture figure at the time. Tina didn't want you to think that she voted out Mitchell because she caused a power switch literally on the hike to Tribal Council, she did it because he was weak (her TC voting confessional blows that image up -- in the spirit of the Olympics, let the games begin!) She didn't want you to think she took out Jerri because it was the best option for her strategically, it was because Jerri was mean. She was forced to run the game without giving off the appearance that she cares about The Game, but she did it stunningly.

I forgot she asked Kimmi who Debb voted for
![]() Kimmi said in one of her interviews pre-Cambodia that Jeff was the person who actually revealed it, lmao. |

well a lot of it isn't explicitly featured in the episodes for reasons I edited in, and you do really have to look for some of these things to see them get hinted at. The closest you get to Tina admitting this is her voting confessional during the Mitchell vote (In the spirit of the Olympics, let the games begin!) and her final confessional of the season where she says that she came out here to play a great game and win rather than giving it to someone just because they deserve it. I've also seen Australian Outback more times than I would like to admit, so that helps.
If you wanna see what Tina's really like, she comes back in Blood vs. Water and doesn't need to keep up her Good People facade and openly talks about how she'd take out her daughter if it would help her game (and genuinely so in a "I will win at all costs" way, not a Ciera Eastin "I want to be remembered and secure my spot on another season" way)

Yeah I was just gonna say, looking at the table on Wiki a lot of thsi stuff rings true in hindsight. Does this not make you value her as a player though?

Right before the Episode 2 RC where they had to jump off the cliff. Not shown in the episode but openly discussed as Kimmi's big mouth (or Jeff's, according to Kimmi) ruining any chances of Kucha winning.
Tom, let me know what you think of Jerri's FTC question when you get to it
