saira is appearing to have more faces than big ben and none of them likeable or trustworthy. what she's doing is only clever inasmuch as it'll keep bear from attacking her directly - for now - and, in truth, that's less to do with her tactic than lewis saying basically she was off-limits as part of their clan.
what saira has done, and what katie would have done by following that route, is open herself up more to the public's vote of displeasure come evictions. as things stand, katie's come across as weak but i think viewers have a better understanding of why she did the groveling thing (afraid of him targeting her) and will weigh that up against her having the courage to nominate him anyway... it comes out in her favour or, at worst case, in balance.
i'd like to see her toughen up, too, but some people just don't have that in them.
