Oh I agree mostly.
However even if I am out with Friends at a club, pub or restaurant and 2 of them are talking directly to each other, I would not butt in the conversation unless asked to or was asked for my opinion.

Just as I would not expect any of them to butt into mine,were talking directly to another person there.
