Gays on Twitter saying Avoid that Store etc
Why would they remove him if customers GENUINELY complained and all he was doing was carrying out his duties?

I agree with Dezzy, and think that NO customer complained - especially about them merely holding hands - and that the Security Guard himself had the problem with the Gay Guys.

He's just another twisted twat who gravitated towards a position of 'power' so that he can indulge his prejudices - in my opinion.

It's definitely a shame. But like you said, there's always progress. The U.K. is generally an okay place to be yourself, though there are (and probably always will be) problems. As long as you friend has people like you to make them happy then things should be fine
Well my friend has only told me recently so I've tried not to discuss the issues with it too often with him because I'm just grateful that I'm the first person that his told, so his trusting with a big secret with the people that we know.

If the couple were doing anything wrong, the security footage would show it and Sainsburys would have used it to absolve themselves of blame. The fact they haven't released the footage suggests that it's the Security Guard at fault.

Yes Dezzy
Sainsburys now see these 2 Gay Fellas
as Trouble Makers

Sainsburys deleted the tweet they sent
the 2 Gay Fellas
stated that on that Live interview yesterday

Meanwhile
Sainsburys do not want a Gay Kiss Demo
outside the Front of their store
that will make Customers avoid going in.

Scores of people carrying rainbow flags crammed into the aisles of a Sainsbury's Local store to stage a mass "kissathon" protest, after a gay couple were told by a security guard they were "touching inappropriately".

Thomas Rees, 32, and his boyfriend Joshua Bradwell, 25, were told off by security at a London branch of the store after a customer allegedly complained about their behaviour.

Around 200 people danced outside the Sainsbury's on Hackney Road on Saturday evening before many went inside to fill the store and support the couple.

Shoppers appeared puzzled as scores of gay men and women entered the store before counting down to the kiss-in protest.

Mr Rees said: "When someone questions your behaviour in such a direct manner you can't help but analyse how you are perceived by society.

"Both of us have received messages from people around the world who don't even have the courage to hold hands, let alone stand up against something like this. You have to do so."

At least one member of the public shouted at the group to "get off my road", but the protest continued unabated, with demonstrators dancing to Donna Summer and Diana Ross.

A spokesperson for the store, who provided cookies and water for the protesters, said: "It's been a really great event and an important opportunity for the community to show their support.

"We do our best to make sure everyone feels welcome in our stores but occasionally we make mistakes. We are working hard to make sure lessons are learnt."

So to try and prove a point against being told a gay couple was behind 'inappropriately' they gather in said shop to protest by.. a mass pda session and blocking pathways and roads? get a grip, who cares what one security guard in a random supermarket says? I personally find these things just a desperate attempt for attention.

I don't think it's just about that one security guard though. I think most people have encountered some sort of homophobia in their lives and you're right that things like this are attempts for attention, but isn't that kind of the point? It's people coming together and saying to all the people that have acted homophobic to them in the past "look at us, we don't care!" If I had been one of the protesters I wouldn't be thinking about the security guard, I'd be thinking about all the people that have tried to repress me in the past and I'd feel glad that it didn't work.
I don't personally think things like this will necessarily change anything, but I still think there's merit in it... even if they are only doing it just to make themselves feel better (which I don't personally believe is the case for most protesters), I think they should be allowed that anyway considering we have a society that allows for them to be victims. It's fair.
And I don't think this particular protest was obstructive, they were even giving them cookies and water and called it a "great event". So I don't think they went to far with it.
