I'd heard a lot about this but mostly because of bands/artists I like being roped in to write a song for it I'll have to give it a look because it's seen as the ideal between "music fan" and "TV fan" that apparently Vinyl failed to nail.

Yep. They absolutely nailed it they manage to document it in a way that means it doesn't really matter what you are looking for i really cant see how anyone could not like it from Music nerd to corrie watcher. Its just bloody good watching (imo of course)
I barely even noticed Jaden Smith which was my only reservation going into it.
$10,000,000 an episode though wow thats more than Game of Thrones costs to make. They spent it well i hope it succeeds.
