It was unexpected, yes. But it did nothing for me. Sidney's death was unexpected and they managed to pull it off well. Shelby just suddenly turning into a psychopath was so stupid and unrealistic. Like yeah, sure, punch him or something but to smash his skull in seemed too far fetched.

Yeah it was over the top to be fair. I liked it for the surprise aspect but it did make zero sense from a story perspective

I'd hate it if they did that, The ghosts in Roanoke are different to the ones in MH and Hotel and it wouldn't make sense if they linked them all together using Gags.

The Ghosts in Roanoke play by different rules because of Gags' magic I think. They're under her control because of the ritual used to create them. I think they might have mentioned in MH that a place becomes haunted when a lot of blood is shed so the Murder House and the Hotel became haunting grounds due to their history rather than interference from Gags'. It'll just create an even messier narrative if they force the witch into the origin stories of MH and Hotel.

It's very messy and random but tbf he can't revisit Asylum because it got shut down and everyone died in freak show so murder house, Coven and Hotel could only be revisited. I wonder how they would do it if MH is set in LA and Coven is set in New Orleans. I would prefer a Coven 2 but make it even scarier
