Of course the electoral college system needs looking at and is clearly unrepresentative of actual voting now.

However this man, I think anyway, never expected to be in this position, he has gone from resembling a mad bull to a mouse in just 2 days.
I think he sees the enormity of the task ahead and is actually probably totally unprepared for it,knowing 'all' the decisions he now makes, he will have to be fully accountable for.

Which may mean certainly for his first 2 years he will sort of have to let himself be controlled by his party and advisors on his mission, whatever that mission is now post the election rather than before.
Then after 2 years, he has to start thinking about the next election coming 2 years later, with all the build up and then a years campaigning almost again.

Americans against him come what may, should be looking at ensuring, and the Democrat party particularly should, that he is a one term President.
It could be a 2nd term would be his strongest as to his past rhetoric once he has new confidence and has worked his way round the presidential duties and system.

He is at present like a totally different person following this win, almost now like a rabbit caught in the headlights.
I am starting to think that Trump the president will possibly be nothing at all like Trump the candidate.
All Mister loudmouth on the campaign trail but now that is over really using his ears, both of them, once he takes proper office as president.

Which then will more likely than not end up really dismaying and annoying far more those who voted for him, rather than those who did not.
Great points Joey. Looking at Trump slumped in his chair beside the classy Presidential Obama I had the same thoughts as you.
He cynically exploited the paranoia and racial tensions within the country to cause further division and fear for his own narcissistic egotistical desires - he wanted to WIN at all costs. But does he actually really want the job itself? For now he has got it, he has hypocritically done a U - Turn and is even praising 'crooked Hillary' who he wanted to jail a week ago. As you say, the mad bull has become a mouse.
Better he stays that way... for otherwise America is in for 4 years of racism, sexism, xenophobia and homophobia - all the things it has worked to abolish over the years will have been for nothing, and lord knows what will come of it.
But then, many Americans wanted him and his hateful rhetoric and now they have him - and I too don't think he's going to deliver what they expect, or in the way they expect him to...I hope not anyway, for all our sakes...
