Because it means that they're wasting money that could be spent on better and more affordable ex housemates...surely that is self explanatory?

Understandable. But it's not like C5 have the best taste in ex-housemates is it? I mean look at the one housemate they select every series to shove down our throats or the people they ask back for BOTS when the series is over, never even acknowledging any of the good ones.
