They all sign contracts to get their paychecks so if by not dressing up he's breaking his contract then he might not get paid as much, and if it's something that's not breaching his contract then he's not actually breaking any rules. So either way I don't have a problem with it tbh. He still took part in the task, it's not like he was trying to be awkward, he just has limits when it comes to preserving his self respect/dignity, and I think that was the issue for him rather than it being pomposity.

I agree, I felt he should have worn an outfit but in the end as a sidekick he did not really look out of place in his own clothing.
Had he been a superhero he would have then looked more out of place.
