As a viewer I would say that he is some what of an outsider who doesn't appear to give much to the show in the way of entertainment,(if you deem entertainment to be confrontational, foul mouthed, aggressive, sexual etc etc )
But I'm sure living in that house, for some, he is the stability that they need when dealing with what appears at times to be a pressure cooker atmosphere...
