People can have heart conditions at any age, what I'm saying is lorry drivers are more likely than any profession to be continually assessed. Of course that can't prevent every incident.

I work at a depot, the drivers are assessed annually.

It backs up my point though they are unlikely to be able to work until they are 74 and if there is no pension before then, they will have to seek medical disability (if it still exists) so working until 74 is just not possible in some professions

he looked OK
but in France they avoid the doctor
more than we do.
There are tablets that protect the heart
if you are at the age he was
it is important, to take a small tablet
every single day.
It is not that hard to do.


Tragic that so many avoid this small protection tablet
from you GP etc.

Not Paracetamol , by the way.

Join a pension scheme and try and save a bit for retirement. Not easy when you are paying rent/ mortgage etc and bringing up kids, but every bit helps.

Thanks to the Tories, your private pension is protected now, 100% if you are already getting it ( up to a really high cap) , 90% if it goes belly up while you are still under pension age and working.

High cholesterol and diabetes are controllable chronic illnesses but how about early onset dementia, osteoporosis, arthritis?
These age related changes are not conducive to working life.

France has a fantastic health care system. I would far rather see a doctor in France than in the UK. They are especially good at preventative medicine.
