I prefer Channel's 5 CBB compared to the Channel 4 days . They put a lot more effort in to CBB.

I think the only thing is the Graphics and I liked the concept of Secrets & Lies, Power Trip & Timebomb (it gave it a fresh feel) however I just put that down to the fact graphic quality has improved over the years and I don't doubt Channel 4 would have had improved graphics and possible theming.

I love Makosi but I don't think Davina was that bad with her during the interview? If anything it was the crowd that were vile and treated her appallingly which just made the atmosphere during the interview all the more ugly.

And the only thing I can think off that's better on C5 is CBB I guess?

Every January series bar CBB11 has been pretty stellar and I'd put them above every C4 CBB apart from CBB3/4. There's been some pretty good summer CBB's too, even if they are useless.

You could easily say the same about emma willis though, its very easy to tell when she doesnt like the HM she is interviewing. Shes got alot of flack for it over the past few years.

This. Even at the time I never understood the backlash Davina got for that.

Nah she's said she'd do BOTS a few times a week if Rylan did All Stars but I imagine that job would go straight one of Emma Willis, Tom Read Wilson, a rotating cast of Ex Housemates (like the nightly show) or one of the BOTS regulars.

What I prefer on C5:

CBB in general - better housemates nowadays, CBB January has its own theme now and obviously it's on more often
Graphics - Which would probably just improve as time goes on anyway, but especially in Powertrip and BB17 I loved them
Twists - Okay C4 had better twists that were executed well (like the house next door and most of BB7) but C5 is a bit more roofless and I sort of like it. Annihilation week was one of my favourites, and the white room. But mainly I'm saying C5 do twists better because of secrets and lies - the whole series was just really good because of the secrets and lies twists constantly. The others would've been good to had it not flopped
House design - I like this on both. C5 out so much effort and detail in, that it just amazes me! Especially this summer! But at the same time my favourite type of house is simple and modern (hence power trip being my favourite) - but most C4 houses were simple and played psychological games which I loved.

What I prefer on C4:
The tasks - by FAR better than C5, don't even need to go there
The editing - it's just too choppy and annoying these days with needless music and constant drama, I miss watching stupid/normal/fun stuff
Spinoff shows - there were more of them to start with, and they ha roots of different stuff. BOTS is the same thing day in day out

Agreed, C5 need to mix up the houses layout more. Would be nice to have a year where theres alot of open space in the house.

Sad how the 20th anniversary of CBB is a summer series, not January

CH5 BB interferes with the show much more than CH4 did. This is both a good and bad thing.

CH5 notices when the show becomes boring and does things to liven it up like tasks, twists and new HMs.

This is good for keeping the show fresh, but sometimes it feels like there is too much outside influence on the show.

Sometimes i miss the old purer days of BB when it felt more like a psychological/social experiment. Those people really were cut off from the outside world for weeks.

In reality though, when I watch back old CH4 BBs that I loved at the time, they can seem amazingly slow now.

The format has got more exciting but the characters have become more bland. People were much more varied and interesting years ago. We used to have proper sub-cultures, goths, rastas, punks, techno bods, etc etc

Nowadays everyone kind of feels the same: all botox, tattoos, boring gross-out sex talk, fame hungry egos with little intelligence - talking loud but sayin' nothing!

Yes i agree on this, plus its a new theme and house in the January series unlike the summer cbb series where they just go into the same house with a few minor changes. I get excited to see what the new eye/theme is basically s what im saying :-D

The housemates from C4 days were much better and it really was a mix of different people. Its a shame C5 dont add C4 like housemates as having lots of different people in there is going to cause drama/clashes and thats what they want. The producers wouldn't have to mix it up and intervene so much.

I find VTS marginally better than VTE but that's more to do with C4 casts being good enough to be able to afford to lose good characters in a VTE whereas with C5 casts once the good characters are gone it's a ****show, but they can't even be consistent with their voting formats so :/

Oh one thing I'd like to add and I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread yet or not but:

Love all the Z list celebs with agents instead of the old silly 'give everyone a fair chance' rubbish application process they used to do with boring normal people. What was that all about?
Love all the outside contact. This is how BB should be.
Love the manipulation.
Love it being on at 10 now.
Love the fact that it's all prerecorded now.
Love the parts that look scripted.
Love Rylan.
Love the BBBOTS audience
Can't think what else i love.

Oh love C5.They made BB so much better.
